1) The first type of bank is central bank :- Central bank means a bank which control and regulate all the banks of a country .
In our case that in india the name of central bank is RBI.
2) Later all the banks (For example -SBI, PNB, BOB,ALLAHABAD BANK, AXIS BANK, HDFC BANK etc) in India are broadly classified into two types:-
(a) SCHEDULE BANK
(b) UNSCHEDULE / NON- SCHEDULE BANK
3) The Schedule bank is further classified into :-
(A) COMMERCIAL BANK
4) The commercial banks are classified into following types :-
(a) PUBLIC SECTOR BANK
(b) REGIONAL RURAL BANK (RRB)
(c) PRIVATE SECTOR BANK
5) The private sector banks are further classified into following types :-
(a) INDIAN PRIVATE BANK
(b) FOREIGN PRIVATE BANK
6) The unschedule bank is further classified into :-
(a) CO-OPERATIVE BANK
7) The co – operative banks are further classified into :-
(a) STATE CO – OPERATIVE BANK
(b) CENTRAL / DISTRICT CO – OPERATIVE BANK
(c) PRIMARY CREDIT SOCIETIES
